Due to the unrest situation along Thai-Myanmar border, a number of villagers including children separated from parents or caretakers also fled to border temporary shelters. COERR then organized an orientation class to introduce these children to organizations and personnel providing services for children.

   Regarding COERR’s activities, there are two main services: social services for the vulnerable and children separated from parents or care providers and those in need of assistance and protection. COERR also offered child development and learning in COERR’s Child Friendly Spaces. COERR promoted leadership and volunteering spirit; provided food and non-food assistance to the vulnerable people, etc. COERR also supported sustainable agriculture by means of planting, animal raising and livelihood training.

   COERR Mae Sot organized orientation class in Ban Nupo Temporary Shelter, Tak Province’s Umphang District on September 3, 2022 in which 50 children of 27 girls and 23 boys attended.

   COERR Mae Sarieng organized orientation class in Ban Mae La Oon Temporary Shelter, Mae Hong Son Province’s Sob Moei District, on September 17, 2022 in which 116 children of 75 girls and 41 boys attended.

   Later, COERR Kanchanaburi organized a walking orientation session on September 28, 2022 in which 42 children of 29 girls and 13 boys walked around Ban Tham Hin Temporary Shelter, Ratchaburi Province’s Suan Phueng District. They were introduced to know organizations that worked for children so they were aware of the place they could come to ask for help when necessary. They also rendered community service by collecting garbage along the walkway that raised their awareness about the cleanliness and created sense of belonging to the community they live in.
